Bánffy Center

The Bánffy Center is an important “fountain” of Hungarian culture, and it is popular among natives and tourists who are interested in Hungarian books, magazines and fine arts, and among students who enjoy the many events that are hosted here, as well as by visitors who merely wish to enjoy the good coffee and delicious cakes whilst absorbing the rhythm of bourgeois life. The Bánffy Center provides a useful and cultural way to spend time, as well as a place for entertainment and the enjoyment of aromatic flavours. It boasts a bookstore, internet café, small art gallery and cultural services. This Center, which operates within the framework of the Institute for the Culture of Hungarian Nationality, was named after a famous aristocratic family from Lower Lendava. This was one of the most typical families in Hungary in the 17th Century, and as such they were collectively selected as obvious patrons and promoters of the city's culture.Opening Hours: Monday - Friday: 7:30 - 21:00, Saturday: 7:30 - 14:00, Sunday: 8:00 - 12:00.
