St.Nicholaus Church

The Saint Nickolaus Cathedral is one of the most important architectural treasures of Muraszombat. The church that was built in the 11th-12th centuries in Roman style was rebuilt in gothic style in the 14th century, and then it was expanded upon the plans of László Takács in the style of art nouveau of the Hungarian national romanticism, but keeping the most valuable parts of the ancient building. The church has been the cathedral of the new Muraszombat Diocese since 2007.
