Szikszai Edit Collection of Local History

The cultural centre of Őriszentpéter is named after Edit Szikszay Károlyné since 2004, where the collection based on the her collection is open for visitors presenting the history of the Őrség region and the everydays of people living in the region through archive photographs and typical objects. Edit Szikszay was a local teacher who started a school collection in 1961, which then emerged into a village collection. She was a talented and emphasical collector of folkloristic objects and the knowledge about Őrség. The collection can be found in the center of Őriszentpéter, in the top floor of the local Cultural Centre and City Library. The collection is well-presented and is open on a wide timeframe.

Opening Hours: Tue, Fri 10 AM to 7 PM, Mon, Wed, Thu 10 AM to 5 PM.
