In the framework of the Iron Curtain Cycling project we have started the cycling tour guide training which includes 10 occassions.

On the first day session in Lenti the participants of module ”Basic knowledge of tour guiding” could get acquainted with the history of touring, tour guiding skills, tour organizing, tour reporting, recording, educational work of a tour guide, behaviour, activities, rights and obligations of a tour guide, route signs, equipments of a cycling tourist, packing, transporting and other activities related to touring.

On the 1-day training of 6 October 2018 the ones interested in tour guiding from Slovenia and Hungary could learn the steps of tour guiding, the basic skills of organizing tour guiding, the tasks of a tour guide through practice oriented methods. A great number of positive feedbacks arrived from the participants related to the training.  

The course includes further 9 training days. The second one being held also in Lenti on 13 October deals with cycling, within it:

• History of cycling tourism
• Traffic skills
• Adequate knowledge on the Highway Code
• Introduction of cycling ehtics
• Cyclists’ technical knowledge, structure-, maintenance-, troubleshooting-, types of bicycles.

On 27 October we continue with a tour by which we wander the thematic routes developed in the project.
