The castle was in past centuries many times entirely restored and rebuilt.
In 1866, during the service of Rabbi Schacherles, the synagogue began today, which, besides the synagogue of Maribor, still has a synagogue still in existence in Slovenia.
A permanent local history exhibition entitled “Museum of Citizenry, Typography and Umbrella Manufactory” was given its own home in the former bourgeois house on Glavna ulica 52. The house was built at the outset of the 20th Century.

In the immediate vicinity of the Velika Polana, between Mala Polana and Mačkovci, a mill on the Črnec is worth visiting in the Alder Forest.
